Week Wrap Up – Little Mix, Jesy Nelson, and Ed Sheeran Updates
End Of An Era
It is the end of an era for Little Mix with the departure of Jesy Nelson. On Dec. 14, Little Mix announced that after nine years they will be continuing as a trio and wish Nelson the best.
The post continued in its thread with, “We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being. We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the 3 of us are not ready for it to be over.”
For those who weren’t aware, Nelson was often the target of trolls online abuse so the departure wasn’t a complete shock especially since she was not credited as a writer on Confetti, did not partake on “The Search,” and announced she needed time off back in November.
But despite the hints, Nelson still took to Instagram to further explain the reasoning behind her departure being the pressure of meeting people’s expectation and the toll on her mental health.
“There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process.”

With this departure, she asks for fans to continue to support her and thanks her bandmates for the love and memories.

A Comeback
On the opposite end, Ed Sheeran confirmed his comeback on Instagram (Dec. 20). Sheeran posted a splattered painting with the caption “11am GMT tomorrow. A Christmas present.”
Although it hasn’t been confirmed by Sheeran, Power Radio posted that he will be releasing a single titled, “The Afterglow.”
