Lollapalooza Announces Virtual Festival via YouTube
On Monday, July 27, Lollapalooza announced a virtual music festival via YouTube. The festival was to take place in Grant Park throughout the weekend of July 30-August 2 but was ultimately canceled due to COVID-19. Now the festival will be streamed live on YouTube. Performers will include A$AP Rocky, Alison Wonderland, Brockhampton, Metallica, Chance The Rapper, Kali Uchis, ZHU, Lorde, OutKast, Paul McCartney, and many more.
The virtual festival will be a four-night event starting at 6 p.m. ET from July 30-August 2. The full schedule of performances and times is to be released on Wednesday, July 29. The virtual show will be free to all viewers on YouTube and will feature the Mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot. Lollapalooza is also teaming up with organizations like Arts for Illinois Relief Fund, Equal Justice Initiative, When We All Vote, and more for the virtual festival.
