Ross from Friends to Release Debut Album
A unique electronic artist, both in terms of sound and name, is planning to release his first full length album in July.
Ross from Friends, who’s real name is, Felix Clary Weatherall, has made waves with small EPs and features with other artists.
His new album should be one to look out for. Containing 12 tracks, Family Portrait, will supposedly take the listener into a deeply personal realm that hasn’t been fully explored in his work yet.
Weatherall is quoted in mixmag.net saying, “if he taps into his ‘emotional instability,’ which should be noted as, the album will feature the artists voice for the first time.”
Weatherall’s music style has become a lot more mainstream in the past year or two. This has caused many artists to sign to well-recognized labels. Ross from Friends’ new album will be recorded and sold by Brainfeeder, the label that experimental electronic artist Flying Lotus founded.
This may be a chance for Ross from Friends to pioneer lo-fi, and take it into a dedicated, serious direction.
His new album is reported to be released July 27th. It will be available by download and on Vinyl and CD.
